AgenticOS vs Claude Enterprise
Claude Team and Enterprise give each employee Anthropic's assistant: chat, Projects, Cowork, connectors and skills, on Claude models in Anthropic's cloud. AgenticOS builds agents for your organization rather than seats for your employees, and it can run them on Claude through the Anthropic API or Amazon Bedrock.

A useful agent should leave you with something you can use. Explore three examples from the AgenticOS product.
Research & operations
Ask the specialists. Get one brief.
Let a lead agent bring together research and analysis from specialist agents. In this example, the brief names its sources and flags the missing financial inputs instead of inventing a margin.
- 1.Define the question
- 2.Connect specialist agents

01
Agents for a job, not assistants for a person
Claude Projects hold instructions and knowledge for the people who chat in them. An AgenticOS agent is a published, versioned object with environments for testing and a YAML export, and it answers anonymous visitors through a website widget or a hosted page.
02
Approval by someone other than the requester
In Cowork, the person running a task approves its write actions. In AgenticOS a gated tool parks the run, the alert goes to the people you choose, and only someone allowed to decide approvals can decide it, once.
03
Enterprise controls without an Enterprise tier
On Claude, audit logs, role-based access, SCIM and the Compliance API need Enterprise and 20 seats. AgenticOS ships a tamper-evident audit log, roles with per-resource grants, directory group mappings and retention per data class in every deployment. Custom roles and SCIM are not there yet.
04
Knowledge you can tune
Claude Projects switch to retrieval on their own as project knowledge grows, and expose no settings. In AgenticOS you choose the parser, chunking, OCR and image description per collection, the documents and vectors stay in your Postgres, and sync connectors keep collections current.
The software is Apache-2.0. Your team still owns hosting, model usage, updates and the policies it configures. Self-hosting alone does not mean zero outbound data.

Choose Claude Enterprise when it fits the job.
- You want a strong assistant for every employee with nothing to operate.
- Cowork, Claude Code, Microsoft 365 and Chrome under one seat cover your needs.
- You need SAML or SCIM today. AgenticOS offers OIDC, LDAP and Kerberos, but not SAML or SCIM yet.
Run the platform. Make it your own.
- Your team wants to operate the platform and choose its infrastructure and model providers.
- You want shared Projects, configurable specialist agents and explicit workflows in one workspace.
- You want open-source software you can inspect and extend, and accept responsibility for operating it.
Before changing your setup
Keep Claude for employees' everyday work, and publish the agents that need an owner, a budget or a public surface in AgenticOS, on Claude models. The coding agent hands software work to Claude Code, and Claude Code and Claude Desktop connect to AgenticOS as an MCP server to list and run your agents.
What people ask before they switch.
Can AgenticOS use Claude models?
Yes. Add a model profile for the Anthropic API or Amazon Bedrock, and any agent can run on Claude. You pay Anthropic or AWS at their API rates.
Is AgenticOS a self-hosted alternative to Claude Enterprise?
For agents your organization publishes, yes. It runs on your infrastructure with per-agent budgets, approvals, roles and a tamper-evident audit log. It does not replace Claude as a personal assistant for every employee.
Does AgenticOS charge per seat?
No. There is no seat or licence fee. Claude Team starts at $20 per seat per month billed annually, and Claude Enterprise adds usage at API rates to its seat fee.
Can people outside the company use an AgenticOS agent?
Yes. An agent answers through a website widget, a hosted page link, the HTTP API, Slack, Telegram or Mattermost, with no seat needed.

Make the choice on your own task
One useful agent.
Start there.
Bring a handbook question, a recurring report or a small research task. Build one agent and decide whether this is the workspace you want to run.
Try it on your own infrastructure
Start with the installation guide and a model connection. No software licence fee; infrastructure and model usage are separate.
