AgenticOS vs Sauna

Sauna, from HeyDaily Inc., is a proactive AI teammate for each person. It reads the inbox, calendar, documents and tools you connect, remembers what it learns, and suggests or does work on your behalf, in its web and iOS apps, iMessage, Slack and email. AgenticOS gives a company as many agents as it needs, each with its own instructions, model, tools, knowledge, budget and access rules, on infrastructure the company controls.

If you want one personal assistant that starts working on your inbox in ten minutes, Sauna is quick to try. If you want to decide what each agent may do, what it costs and where the data lives, AgenticOS gives you that control.

Maintained by the AgenticOS team. Sources checked 21 October 2026. AgenticOS baseline: v1.10.0. Sauna scope: its public pricing, security and privacy pages (the privacy policy updated 6 October 2026), not a tested account or negotiated contract.

Where AgenticOS goes further

Agents for the company, not one assistant per person

Every person has their own Sauna, and a shared company brain comes with the Team plan. In AgenticOS each agent is built for its own task, such as an HR policy agent, a sales assistant or a support triage agent. Each one has its own instructions, capabilities, knowledge collections and budget, and the same agent serves everyone it is shared with.

An agent's spec is versioned on publish and exports as YAML into your git repository. A project gives a team and its agents shared files, instructions and chats.

Data that stays where you put it

Sauna is a US service: its policy says personal data may be processed in the US and in the countries where its sub-processors operate, under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. When you sign up, it researches you on the public web and keeps the result in your workspace. Its site and app load advertising pixels from Meta, LinkedIn, Google and Reddit, off by default in some regions. Product analytics are kept for up to seven years.

AgenticOS stores conversations, documents and vectors in your own Postgres, and a fresh install sends nothing anywhere. You set retention per class. With a local model, nothing needs to leave your network.

A model you choose, and a budget per agent

Sauna's cheapest plan runs on its own Lite model, and the model picker opens from Basic. Most models run under zero data retention; Claude Fable 5.1 keeps prompts and outputs for 30 days at Anthropic. AgenticOS reaches 28 providers on every agent. Each agent has a monthly budget checked before each model request, priced in your provider's currency rather than in credits.

Approval by someone other than the requester

Sauna lets you set how much it may do without you. In AgenticOS a tool the agent's author gated parks the run until a person who holds approvals:decide decides it, and every decision lands in a tamper-evident audit log. An MCP connection carries its own approval policy.

Knowledge you can inspect

Sauna keeps the files you drop in and pulls from them when it works. AgenticOS adds managed document collections: you choose the parser and chunking per collection. You can sync from Google Drive, S3, SharePoint or OneDrive, a website or a git repository.

When Sauna is enough

  • You want a personal assistant that triages your own inbox and calendar, with nothing to run.
  • iMessage, an iOS app or Superhuman is where you want to talk to it. AgenticOS has none of these.
  • Its catalog of more than 3,000 tools, plus your own MCP servers, covers your work.
  • US processing and its retention terms meet your requirements.

Use them together

Keep Sauna for one person's own inbox. Use AgenticOS for the agents a team or its customers rely on. An AgenticOS agent can watch a mailbox through a Gmail trigger, run on a schedule as a routine, remember what it learns with memory and publish apps, under the budgets and approvals above.

Try one handbook question

Use the shared document fixture. Ask the supported and missing-policy questions in both. Then give the answer to a colleague. With Sauna they need their own account, or you share your Sauna with them; with AgenticOS they open the agent you shared or a hosted page. Record the result with the comparison method.

Frequently asked questions

Is AgenticOS an alternative to Sauna?

Yes, if you want agents for a team rather than one assistant per person. AgenticOS runs many agents, each with its own instructions, access, knowledge and budget, on your own infrastructure. Sauna is quicker to start for one person's inbox and runs in its own cloud.

Where does Sauna store data?

Its security page says that for US customers, infrastructure and data storage are in the United States, and its privacy policy says data may be processed in the US and wherever its sub-processors operate. AgenticOS keeps its data on your own deployment, wherever you run it: conversations, documents and vectors in your Postgres, uploaded files and sandbox workspaces on its volumes, and short-lived state in Redis.

How does pricing compare?

Sauna has a free plan with 10 credits a day, or 20 with a verified card, and paid plans from $29 to $999 a month, billed monthly. AgenticOS has no licence fee: you pay model providers directly, and each agent has its own monthly budget.

Can AgenticOS read my email like Sauna?

An agent can, if you connect it. A Gmail trigger runs an agent on new mail, and an MCP server for your mailbox lets it read and draft. Each write can wait for approval.
