AgenticOS vs OpenClaw¶
OpenClaw is an open-source personal AI agent, among the most-starred projects on GitHub: one assistant that runs on your own machine or server, with skills written by its community. NVIDIA's NemoClaw is a distribution of it for companies, adding credential isolation, sandboxed skills, network policies, audit and role-based access. AgenticOS starts where a company starts: many agents for many teams, built in a browser, with permissions, budgets, approvals and an audit log from the first install.
If you want one personal assistant you run yourself, OpenClaw is the obvious open-source choice. If a company needs agents for its teams, governed and shared, AgenticOS is built for that, and is open source too.

Where AgenticOS goes further¶
Built for a company, not a person¶
OpenClaw is one person's assistant. AgenticOS runs organizations with roles and grants, so an HR agent, a sales agent and a support agent live side by side, each visible to the people it is for.
Governance in the open-source product¶
Reporting on OpenClaw counted tens of thousands of instances exposed to the internet and community skills with security flaws, which is the gap NemoClaw exists to close. In AgenticOS, approvals, budgets, the vault and the audit log are in the Apache-2.0 product, and the sandbox runs code apart from the platform.
Built in a browser¶
An OpenClaw assistant is configured in files. An AgenticOS agent is built in the console - instructions, model, tools, knowledge, budget - and published in versions that answer in web chat, Slack, Telegram, Mattermost, a widget and the API.
When OpenClaw is enough¶
- You want one personal assistant on your own machine, and you are comfortable securing it yourself.
- Its community skills cover what you need.
- For a company deployment of OpenClaw itself, NemoClaw adds the controls AgenticOS ships with.
