AgenticOS vs Viktor

Viktor sells one AI teammate per Slack or Microsoft Teams workspace, run in its cloud and billed in credits. AgenticOS gives you as many agents as you need, each with its own instructions, model, tools, knowledge, budget and access rules, on infrastructure you control.

If you want one helpful colleague in chat by this afternoon, Viktor is quick to try. If you want to decide what each agent may do, what it costs and where the data lives, AgenticOS gives you that control.

Maintained by the AgenticOS team. Sources checked 25 September 2026. AgenticOS baseline: v0.0.504. Viktor scope: its public product, pricing, security and enterprise pages and changelog, not a tested account or negotiated contract.

Where AgenticOS goes further

Many agents, each with a job

Viktor is one teammate that the whole workspace shares. In AgenticOS each agent is built for its own task, such as an HR policy agent, a sales assistant or a support triage agent. Each one has its own instructions, capabilities, knowledge collections and budget.

An agent's spec is versioned on publish and exports as YAML into your git repository. Named environments let you test a version in staging before production answers with it.

Access decided per agent and per person

Viktor's homepage FAQ, checked on 25 September 2026, says a plan shares one Viktor instance and context, and that a connected integration is available to every team member. Its enterprise page lists role-based access. Ask which applies to your contract.

In AgenticOS, access comes from the permission catalog, and grants share one agent, skill or collection with a person or a group. An MCP binding can use each person's own account rather than one shared login. A linked Slack user runs as themselves.

A budget per agent, not only a credit pool

Viktor bills a workspace credit pool, and states that credits map to what model providers charge. AgenticOS has no credits. Each agent has a monthly budget checked before each model request. A failed run still records its spend, and an alert tells the people you choose when an agent reaches its cap.

Your data stays where you put it

Viktor is hosted in the US. Its pages differ on EU residency and configurable retention, so confirm both in writing. AgenticOS stores conversations, documents and vectors in your own Postgres. You set retention per class. With a local model, nothing needs to leave your network.

Knowledge you can inspect

Viktor learns from conversations and connected tools. AgenticOS adds managed document collections: you choose the parser and chunking per collection. You can sync from Google Drive, S3, SharePoint or OneDrive, a website or a git repository. A sync removes documents the source no longer lists.

When Viktor is enough

  • You want one assistant in Slack or Teams with no infrastructure to run.
  • Its catalog of more than 3,200 OAuth integrations and its code sandbox cover your tasks.
  • Credit billing and US hosting meet your requirements.
  • You need Microsoft Teams, voice or an email inbox today. AgenticOS has no Teams, voice or email conversation channel yet.

Try one handbook question

Use the shared document fixture. Compare source access, the actual answer, a missing-policy question and a source update. Check which identity can retrieve the source, and how access is removed when someone leaves.

Then run a second agent for a different team in each product. Check whether it can see the first team's integrations and memory. That second agent is where a workspace teammate and an agent platform differ most. Record the result with the comparison method.

Frequently asked questions

Is AgenticOS an alternative to Viktor?

Yes, if you want more than one shared assistant. AgenticOS runs many agents, each with its own instructions, access, knowledge and budget, on your own infrastructure. Viktor is quicker to start in Slack or Teams and runs in its own cloud.

Can AgenticOS answer in Slack like Viktor?

Yes. A published agent answers in Slack, and a linked user runs as themselves. AgenticOS also answers in Telegram, Mattermost, a website widget, a hosted page and the HTTP API. It has no Microsoft Teams channel yet.

How does pricing compare?

Viktor sells workspace credits, from $50 a month for 20,000. AgenticOS has no licence fee: you pay model providers directly, and each agent has its own monthly budget.

Where is the data stored?

Viktor says it is hosted on AWS us-east-1. AgenticOS stores conversations, documents and vectors in your own Postgres, wherever you deploy it.
